The following software installations and upgrades will be available after the Friday evening update.
Linux, Mac OS X (PPC and Intel):
Refmac will be updated to 5.3.0037. This is the latest update for this add-on to CCP4.
O has been updated for all platforms from 11.0.3 to 11.0.4. This is a minor update related to the functionality of pdb_read. Please see the release notes for further details.
ClustalW 1.83 will be added. ClustalW is a multiple sequence alignment program and is used by MrBUMP.
Linux Only:
MrBUMP 0.3.2 is a new program that will be added to the latest version of CCP4 (6.0.2). Mr. Bump “is an automated scheme for Molecular Replacement.†It will use your target sequence to search for related proteins in the PDB (utilizing FASTA), optimize the alignment using ClustalW and finally perform a molecular replacement search against a list of scored models utilizing either Molrep or Phaser. The application was written by Ronan M Keegan and Martyn D. Winn from CCLRC Daresbury Laboratory and has been recently described in Acta Cryst. D. (2007, D63, 447-457). Full details on the application can be found on the Mr. Bump website. We will attempt to have a Mac version of this application soon and might push it to consortium members before the next official release.
Mac OS X (PPC and Intel) Only:
ImageMagick will be upgraded from 6.2.9 to 6.3.3 for both Mac branches. (It is already included with Fedora Core Linux installation). ImageMagick allows for the creation and editing of bitmaps from a command line interface. For a full list of changes, see the announcement.
