If you use any EMBL-funded applications including ARP/wARP, HKL2MAP, ATSAS, ESCET or BEST, please read this posting so you can retain access to these applications, since we will be removing them from the default installations shortly.
EMBLEM, the licensing arm of the EMBL, has asked that all of their funded applications be individually licensed. To that end, we will be removing these applications from the default installation profiles with the October 15th software update.
To keep a software title in your installation, please visit the appropriate registration page linked below, follow the registration instructions, and then send an email to licensing@sbgrid.org letting us know the registered software title and your SBGrid installation name, which is found in the file /programs/share/sitename. Some of you may have done this already for certain applications, in which case you do not need to re-register.
HKL2MAP: http://webapps.embl-hamburg.de/bundle/download.php?hkl2mp=true&sitcom=false
ATSAS: http://www.embl-hamburg.de/biosaxs/download.html
ESCET: Send a license request to Thomas Schneider using this form.
BEST: http://www.embl-hamburg.de/BEST/download_request3.1.html
At the request of the ARP/wARP developer, this application will now be registered on a per-user basis. Each user wanting to run ARP/wARP must follow this process to obtain an ARP/wARP license and enable its use in the SBGrid environment:
- visit the ARP/wARP website to request a license.
- download any of the current versions via your web browser.
- in the shell run 'sbgrid-register -r path/to/the/arp_warp-file-you-downloaded'.
- open a new terminal to utilize the newly registered software title.
We are sorry about the inconvenience of the additional registration steps.
Thanks for your ongoing support for the Consortium!
