Overview

At the Kirchhausen lab, SBGrid provides a comprehensive system administration support computers that are used for data collection and analysis with lattice light sheet microscopy. All servers are located on the HMS network. To connect remotely … [TODO]

Other lab computer computers (OS X, Linux, Windows) are managed by lab members.

The servers are located in a closet on the 3rd floor of CLSB, which is physically managed by BCH IT. In case of an emergency, BCH IT should be notified to allow physical access to the SBGrid support team.

LLSM

The lattice light sheet microscopy setup consists of a 208 cores compute workstation cluster located at the Warren Alpert Building, where the data is also acquired. This local cluster is connected via 80GB link aggregated fiber connections to the server infrastructure at the CLS building, where the data is stored and later archived to HMS storage.

Data Backups

Full and incremental backups of SBGrid file servers are conducted. This includes your home and data directories. In general, backups are kept for three months. If you need a file restored, please send an email to help@sbgrid.org. Processed data is also backed up to HMS storage.
