Overview

The SBGrid provides system administration support for SBGrid supported Linux Computers used by the Cohen, Corey, & Moazed Labs.

The Corey Lab has one Linux workstation that is administered by the SBGrid. The Cohen Lab has one Linux workstation that is administered by the SBGrid. The Moazed Lab has two linux workstations that are administered by the West Quad Computing Group and SBGrid Software support from the SBGrid.

All of these systems are on the HMS Network.

Get Help

Email the SBGrid at help@sbgrid.org for Linux assistance and please include the name of your Lab as we get many emails each day and don’t always know what Lab you're a member of. The Moazed Lab should CC West Quad Computing Group on any emails to the SBGrid.

Computers

The SBGrid support Linux systems in the Cohen, Corey, & Mozaed Labs. If you need support for Mac or Windows systems, or printers, please contact HMS-IT support at:

Cohen Lab

The SBGrid currently supports one Linux GPU Workstation in the Cohen Lab. This is accessible from the HMS Network and is not accessible from the SBGrid Network. This does not have a network account and the Lab uses a shared user account.

This Workstations Workstation is used primarily for running Schrodinger and has a 3TB mirrored /data filesystem.

TODO: Need to determine how this system is backed up.

Corey Lab

The SBGrid currently supports one Linux GPU Workstation in the Cohen Lab. This is accessible from the HMS Network and is not accessible from the SBGrid Network. This does not have a network account and users can either use a shared account or we can created individual accounts as needed. Please contact Nurunisa Akyuz or Professor David Corey for access.

Data in /data and home directories are backed up daily to Dropbox, contact the SBGrid to have files restored.

Moazed Lab

In the Moazed Lab there are currently two Linux Workstations. These are primarily supported by the West Quad Computing Group (WQCG).

Support from WQCG is available via:

Backups are provided by WQCG.

Mac

We do not support Mac systems in these Labs. If your require the SBGrid programs tree installed on a Mac, please email help@sbgrid.org for assistance. Otherwise, contact HMS-IT for IT Support.

EM Facility

If you need to use the EM Facility in the basement of SGM, please contact Zongi Li or Melissa Chambers.

If you need a data directory created on the EM systems please email the SBGrid and CC Zongli Li. Please remember that data directories on the EM systems are not backed up and to keep a copy of your data elsewhere.
